To be a sustainable ministry processes needed to be developed to generate income and to give families of Arukah House gainful employment for their personal development and dignity.
Initially, yard sales were held in the parking lot of the church, daily. In 2015, the yard sale emerged into what is now our thrift store located at 2911 Market Street, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. The thrift store supplies clothing, shoes, and other needs for the men, women, and children in our program. We also bless families in the community who have a need for furniture, clothing, and hot meals.
Families of Arukah House go daily to the thrift store where they run the business, set up displays, assist customers, and take on important responsibilities for the successful operation of the thrift store. The proceeds generated supports the Arukah House Ministry and off sets costs associated with housing, food, utilities, schooling, etc.
